NO!. You can't change a stock rocker into a higher ratio rocker. Longer pushrods just moves the whole rocker arm more towards the exhaust ports, messing up your valvetrain geo.

No way to shim them or anything.

Rocker ratio change is the lenght between fulcrum to tip.

Rocker ratio change is only good for 2 things. Take a stock engine and give it a tad more lift or to use as a tuning tool to "custom" design your cam's lift and .050" duration.

If you need a bigger cam, no other changes can replace pulling the cam out and installing the right cam in your engine.

Also the higher ratio rocker changes the cam's ramp speed.. Faster ramps are good, but too fast is bad.

Rocker ratio aint gonna act like a major cam change. 0.1:1 change in ratio will give you about .030" more lift, and add about 2* duartion at .050" but keeps adv. duration the same.
References :
if your problem is valve cover gasket leak, just replace the gasket, open the valve cover, install new gasket, apply slight rtv silicon on it, then install.
>transmission ? check/replace the "oil seal", on output shaft, replace the oil seal, on oil pan. replace the gasket,
>power steering ? if the leaks coming from steering pump, replace the "steering pump kit", if the leaks from the rack/pinion assy, get a new "power steering kit", if leaks coming from the high/low pressure hose, replace the hoses..
KIT consist of rubber seal and O-rings,, you need to disassemble the leaking part to install/replace the worn out seals.

seals are cheap to buy, but you need some one who knows how to work on it if you are not trained to do it..
but having a service manual, you can just follow the procedure and work you way on it..
References :
The life of a rocker is pure hell. The heat, pressure, and vibrations makes one wonder how they last 100,000 miles. If they are 1.5 ratio stock, GM makes 1.6 ratios. It's about the biggest change you can make without replacing springs. If not, stick to proven systems.
Realize taller rockers open valves earlier and close later, which could gain upper end HP, but loses low end torque.
References :
no if you put new pan, valve cover. and the power steering is most likely a line or the rack a pinion. so no replacing the tranny will not fix your problem and this way will be cheaper hope this helped
References :
my husband he has worked on cars for 30 some years both for fun and for work

no those leaks you mentioned are associated with the engine and are totally separate from the transmission.
References :
no.. don't do that

it also depends on your cams ramp rate.. too fast and you'd do a bit of damage with a 1.8:1 and higher rocker..
