Baldwin Cornet?
I was just wondering if anyone has heard of the manufacturer of a cornet i recently acquired. on the top of the bell, read correctly if you hold the bell facing left and the mouthpiece facing right, is stamped "BALDWIN", and below, in cursive, is "Special". on the 2nd valve casing, on the left side if you’re playing it, and reading correctly if it’s bell-up, is the serial number, "300880". also, on the leadpipe, on the right side if you’re playing, is stamped "CR301". It was "Supplied by Phil Parker Ltd", as stamped on the underside of the bell, but there is hardly any info about them anyway, and I’d be more interested in Baldwin than Phil parker. I also read somewhere that there are Conn copies… is this one of them? All info appreciated. Thanks.
still looking but its got me beat…………sorry !!!!
