Does anyone know a site where I can find a cheap Honeywell furnace gas valve GSV 800 A108? thanks! :)?

Gas boiler installation cost?

I have a quote of $9,870 for the installation of a natural gas boiler to replace an existing 40+ year old boiler that will provide heat and hot water.

Here are the details of what is included in the quote:
* WEIL MCLAIN model Ultra 80 High Efficiency Gas Boiler (93 0- 98% AFUE)
* WEIL MCLAIN model Ultra Plus 40 Indirect Fired Water Heater
* TACO 2 zone control panel
* TACO 007 zone circulators
* Piping from new boiler to existing heating zones
* Gas piping from new boiler to existing main
* Intake and exhaust piping through sidewall
* Backflow preventer, fill valve, expansion tank, air seperator
* Honeywell zone thermostats
* Electrical wiring
* Remove and dispose of old unit
* Run and test operation of system
* Five years parts and labor warranty

There are two zones, one upstairs, one downstairs in this condo unit. I’d like to know whether this quote sounds reasonable or on the high side.

$2300 includes parts an labor

will a faulty gas valve (honeywell) cause flame to rise and fall?

I have a gas burner (butane) with electronic ignition. The burner lights but then the flame rises up and down and my pressure gauge rises up and down. The gas bottle delivers gas through a regulator which is brand new and has been tested today at 30mb (this is what my burner requires).
After leaving the regulator the gas passes through a honeywell gas valve. This is supposed to shut off gas when my burner reaches a set temp. Could there be a faulty diaphragm/valve inside the honeywell which is causing the irregular flame?

You would need to check the pressure at the regulator. You may have a long pipe from the tank to the house and the gas could be oscillating. That happens with long small diameter pipes. You could have a partially closed valve. I hope you don’t have two regulators, one at the tank and one at the furnace, the regulator vents could be causing trouble especially if one is piped outside. The wind could be messing it up. The gas may be Ok, but you may have a draft problem because of the fluctuating air pressure in the house and outside. I am sorry i can’t be there. These are just things to look for. I doubt the honeywell valve is malfunctioning. They only put variable flow Valves on very expensive industrial equipment, and if it was one of those, it would have control wires for that and a computerized controller.

My Honeywell Smart Valve doesn’t operate!?

I have a Concord 90 Plus gas furnace with a Honeywell Smart Valve and when powered up,the green light stays on and does not blink,the manual says it should blink a code. Nothing else happens the furnace does not do anything.What does this mean?

Nothing happens? If so, I would look for a problem with the induction motor…that’s the little motor that should come on first…the easiest way to test it is to find the thermostat wires inside the furnace and jumper the red and white together…if everything works right then, the problem is with your thermostat. If there is some other problem, the code light should tell you what the problem is.

Here’s to your independence,
